Meet Gul

Guls case was one that involved rebuilding her entire bite and then maintaining it there with a neuromuscular denture. All of our dentures are built to the neuromuscular posisiton. This leads to a better fitting denture, a more comfortable denture.

As you can see from her photographs, her bite was severly broken down, with many missing and broken teeth, leaving her no real bite. This had caused her bite to colapse. As a result, she also was experiencing severe headaches.

Gul's makeover journey

When we first saw Gul, she was in obvious pain. Her broken down bite was so severe that she had no real position to function. She had an overdenture from a prior dentist, which she did not wear. Part of it was due to the fact that it did not fit properly in the mouth, or keep her in a position where she was comfortable.

Her first appointment with Dr. Swoverland focused on neuromuscular therapy and determining the proper position of the jaw. After that was complete, we began the process of fabricating her neuromuscular denture.

The denture itself was tried in to determine the correct position was in fact present. When it was finalized, the case was sent to a labratory to consturct the denture to the neuromuscular position.

Once we recieved the denture back in our office, Gul returned for her delivery appointment. At this appointment, Gul got to see and feel her new teeth. It was something that she was not used to feeling. It did take some getting used to for Gul, but she noticed a significant reduction in headaches, with a returned confidence in the appearance and function of her smile.
